2019 Meeting Schedule:

The MIABC Market Committee, comprised of Underwriting Members only, meets on a quarterly basis to discuss issues pertaining to our local market and to the Marine Insurance Industry in general.

We work together in a collective effort to further enhance our knowledge and expertise in the best interest of our members in serving the needs of our clients.

The MIABC members protect the privacy of our clients by not discussing specific names, but maintaining focus on the facts and merits of insurance-related issues only. As with all MIABC committee meetings, Underwriting Committee Meetings and minutes are confidential and solely for the use of Underwriting Members only.

Claims Committee

2019 Meeting Schedule:

The MIABC Claims Committee, comprised of Underwriting Members only, meets on a quarterly basis to discuss claims matters. The committee shares information relevant to our adjusting field in marine insurance. We work together in a collective effort to further enhance our knowledge and expertise in the best interest of our members in serving the needs of our clients.

The MIABC members protect the privacy of our clients by not discussing names, but maintaining focus on the facts and merits of claims only. As with all MIABC committee meetings, Claims Committee Meetings and minutes are confidential and solely for the use of Underwriting Members only.

The Education Committee of the Association consists of a chairperson and members of the Association, selected by the chairperson, to serve as committee members. As the name implies, the primary responsibility of the committee is to arrange and present educational material that is of interest to the membership at large. It may also qualify for continuing education credits as are required by the Insurance Council.

These educational seminars are usually presented in two formats, one-hour lunchtime presentations and half-day morning sessions. Guest speakers provide information on timely topics that are of interest to the marine insurance community, they are generally preceded or followed by a luncheon. There are both Spring and Fall programs each year, the aim is to provide four one-hour presentations and one half-day presentation in each of the programs
